FIRST SKIN /
SECOND SKIN NY
Video
The world is overwhelmed by this furious speed and we are all tired of the restrictions that quietly wound us with the weight of self-judgment.
In the heart of Chelsea, away from all noise, Louis takes over an art gallery to create his most intimate and personal work to date. A poetic exploration of who we are and who we allow ourselves to be.
THE CHAIR
June 2025, New York.
A quiet evening.
Solid calm.
Silence holding everything in place.
One by one, you arrived.
Intimate sessions.
Your presence... and mine.
You were in complete command.
I was there only to hold the space,
to offer comfort, safety, and stillness.
You moved.
You danced.
Light wrapped around you;
volume and shadow lifted you.
And in that glow, two silhouettes emerged.
THE LETTER
FIND YOUR CHAIR AND STAY IN IT
A letter to my mother.
Dear Mum,
You always told me: “Stay in your chair.”
You never really explained much of the meaning, but I understood.
That it is my responsibility to take care of my chair, to love it, accept it, and honour it.
To never shame it.
To always understand that it’s perfect as it is.
To let it change with the years.
To rebuild it if it broke.
To carry it with me, even when it becomes heavy.
To let it be seen.
To never lose sight of it.
And above all,
to never let anyone else sit on it.
Mum, you never really explained, but I understood...
I AM MY CHAIR.
YOU ARE YOUR CHAIR.
THE SUNSET
First skin: your body.
Second skin: orange sheer silk chiffon.
Generosity poured out of each of you.
Your trust became a language.
I am eternally grateful for your courage,
your vulnerability,
and for letting me witness YOU
as you were, as you are.
